Care

Your potted plant is a living gift that can thrive for months or years with the right care. Start by placing it in a location suited to its light needs — most indoor plants do best in bright, indirect light, though some tolerate lower light. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch, adding water until it begins to drain from the bottom, then empty the saucer so the roots never sit in standing water, which can cause root rot. Avoid placing the plant near cold drafts, heating vents, or direct heat sources, and rotate it occasionally so it grows evenly toward the light. Wipe the leaves gently now and then to remove dust and help the plant breathe. With this simple, regular attention, your plant will stay healthy and green for a long time to come.
