Care

Orchids are elegant and surprisingly low-maintenance once you know what they like. Place your orchid where it will receive bright but indirect light — a spot near a window with a sheer curtain is ideal, while harsh direct sun can scorch the leaves and blooms. Orchids prefer to dry out slightly between waterings, so rather than watering a little every day, give the roots a thorough drink about once a week and always let excess water drain away completely, never leaving the plant sitting in water. Keep your orchid in a warm, stable environment away from cold drafts, air conditioning, and direct heat sources. With this gentle, consistent care, orchid blooms can last for many weeks, and the plant can rebloom again in the future.
