Care

Tulips are unique because they keep growing even after they've been cut, sometimes stretching an inch or two in the vase. Give them a fresh diagonal trim of about one inch, then place them in a clean vase with cool water — tulips prefer plenty of cool, fresh water and don't necessarily need much flower food. Change the water every one to two days and re-trim the stems to keep them drinking well. Don't be surprised if your tulips bend and lean toward the nearest light source; this natural movement is part of their charm, and you can gently rotate the vase for a more even shape. Keep them in a cool location away from direct sun and heat. With fresh water and a cool spot, tulips typically stay lovely for five to seven days.
